Joëlle Achkar is a Lebanese illustrator whose vibrant world is filled with warmth, color, and imagination.

Through her playful, poetic style, she brings stories to life, whether in children’s books, magazines, or design projects. Each illustration carries a touch of wonder and emotion.

Winner of the 2014 Etisalat Prize for Best Children’s Illustration, she also shares her passion for drawing through teaching at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts, where she continues to inspire a new generation of artists.

Representing Lebanon for the 2026 Hans Christian Andersen Award, she celebrates the joy of storytelling and the simple magic of seeing the world through an illustrator’s eyes.
